Generally speaking, all FTP programs are pretty much alike. They accomplish the same tasks, usually take about the same amount of time . . . . yadda, yadda, yadda *yawn*. However, FTP Voyager is in a class of its own!

I decided that I'd really put FTP Voyager to the test, so I mirrored an entire 38-page website, containing about 7 MB worth of HTML files and graphics. With most FTP programs and standard internet connections, this task would take from several hours to a couple of days.

Configuring the connection was simple (with some FTP programs, you feel like you need a Ph.D. just to understand the instructions!). Downloading the entire website took about 30 minutes, with an off-peak hour connection (I have a cable modem, also, which does make the process faster). Uploading the site would have been just as fast, if the server I was uploading onto had been cooperative, but . . . I guess there has to be a hitch somewhere! Moving files with FTP Voyager is as easy as dragging and dropping . . . It doesn't get much simpler.

On top of everything else, FTP Voyager now has an FTP Scheduler which lets you create a list of files for upload, download, deletion, or synchronization in any order, at any time! Although I found that FTP Voyager was simple enough to configure without much help, a great deal of assistance is available through the program's website, covering downloading/installing to uninstalling the software, and everything in between.

Its ease of configuration and use, along with speed, the scheduler, and a reasonable price, make FTP Voyager a "must have" for anyone serious about time management and efficiency.
