For you programmers out there do you remember back in the days of DOS and QBasic when you went to code the printing routines? Remember how much "fun" it was to program the printer ESC Codes and all the other functions of any particular printer? This little app reminds me of those days only this program really works!
DOSPrint is a 32-bit application that allows your DOS applications to print to any Windows printer that has a Windows Driver installed. DOSPrint takes your print file name as a command line parameter, parses the file, extracts certain ESC/P and ESC/P2 printer control codes and out to the printer it goes! DOSPrint emulates these codes so well using the Windows printing system in that it will seamlessly create a print job on any printer, regardless of the brand or model.
Now, you may be wondering; "Yes, but, why would I need this application when Windows does all my printing in the first place?" Good question. But, there are still a large number of programs out there that are written for DOS and there may not be any other way to use that "all-purpose" DOS application that you love so well through the Windows operating system without this tiny program.
So if you happen to be using or would like to drag out that great DOS program you really loved using because it would "do just about anything," see what DOSPrint has to offer today.
