This is an incredibly complex game, that is similar to Civilization. You start the game as the king of the Normans. You have lead your people from their homes to find new homes. You must conquer regions, build up the wilderness, hold your land from all enemies, establish trade and diplomatic relations, and much, much more-just as if you were really roaming around a virtually empty Europe.
On my computer I HAD to change the default screen size, otherwise I didn’t get the main menu bar and without that you can play. It has all the different screens you need to get to in order to do things, the help screens, and the ability to save, load or quit the game.
This is one of those games where I couldn’t explain the rules to you without writing a small book, and since the author already did, I will let that stand. This is also a game that, while you could start playing the game right away, you will not be able to play properly or to the fullest of the game functions with out reading all the help screens-maybe several times. This is not a game that is learned completely in one even ing.
The shareware version allows only 40 years of play. If you try to continue, the game will intention ally create errors. The registered version gives you longer play, animated battles, much more graphics, and 7 extra nations for the player. You can either download the full version, or for $5 extra you can get the full version on a CD.
