Eye Candy 4000 is the newest collection of 23 filters from Alien Skin, for use with PhotoShop and other graphics editors, like Jasc's Paint Shop Pro, Corel Photo-Paint, Macromedia Fireworks, and Deneba's Canvas.

The filters are antimatter (inverts a selection's brightness without affecting hue); bevel boss (creates bevel and carve shapes); chrome (creates metallic effects); corona (creates solar flares, gaseous clouds, etc.); cutout (recreates the selection as a hole in the image by adding shadows); drip (makes text and images "drip"); fire (creates flame-like effects); fur (creates fur and hair effects); glass (creates a layer of clear or colored glass); gradient glow (realistic glows around selections); HSB Noise (adds visual noise); jiggle (creates organic-like distortion); marble (creates marble textures); melt (creates "melting" appearance); motion trail (creates appearance of rapid movement); Shadowlab (drop and perspective shadows); smoke (creates billowing smoke, haze, fog, fumes, etc.); squint (creates realistic blurring); star (creates stars, starbursts, other polygons); swirl (smears using whirlpools); water drops (creates realistic liquid shapes and textures); weave (gives the appearance of being woven); and wood (creates realistic wood effects).

New to this version of Eye Candy are the Bevel Profile Editor, the Color Gradient Editor, the seamless tiling option, and the in-preview controls. The bevel profile editor lets you control the shape of a bevel or carve effect. The Color Gradient Editor allows you to pick your own color scheme. With the seamless tiling option, you can create smoothly patterned tiled

backgrounds. The new in-preview controls allow easy placement and shaping of shadows.

The demo version of Eye Candy 4000 has three fully functional filters (glass, marble, and shadowlab). You can only preview, but not apply or save the effects of, the other 20 filters.

Alien Skin has created another winner here, folks ... Try the demo version. The effects are amazing, and even worth the relatively steep price.
