Type of Program: Image Grabber/News Group Reader
Supported Platforms: Windows 95-98/NT 4.0 or higher
Company Name: Mister Pix
Installed Size: 7.58 MB
Mister Pix has got to be one of the handiest, easiest, and most complete programs yet that I have found of this type. It opens up like Explorer and all your files are easily accessible to Mister Pix's quick and thorough search. But the best part about Mister Pix is that it will also do a comprehensive word search on any subject you type in and then scour the WWW for anything relevant, storing them in any folder you chose.
There's more! Type in the exact URL of any site and go as deep as you like in search of what you seek, 99 levels deep! I actually ran Mister Pix through my own web site, which is shamefully huge and graphic intensive, and it successfully grabbed every image I had there, be it animated .gif, .jpg or .bmp. You can even retrieve .png and zip files as well! And with a nice Gallery within the program you can watch the thumbnails pop up with every successful retrieval made. You even have full control of the size of downloads you chose to collect, thus avoiding quite a headache-full from all those irritating ad banners popping up everywhere.
Still more!! Mister Pix is ready to do all the searching for you if you're looking for images offered throughout the thousands of news groups just waiting for you. You can read and post using this complete all-in-one program. And with the built-in ANPX system you can even monitor the newsgroups you chose for multiple index postings.
Mister Pix is one powerful tool you will quickly find a good home for on your computer's hard drive.
A Word Of Warning:
There are very strict "Copyright Laws" that can and are being enforced every day even within this cyberworld of technology. When viewing and/or using someone else's property, please show thoughtful consideration and respect their personal property rights. As for posting to several news groups at one time, depending on what you are sharing and what groups you intend to post to, note that this can be considered "Spamming" and legal action can be enforced upon anyone doing so. Reading the FAQs of any news group will help you determine what is the best way to post to them.
I gladly give "Mister. Pix" 5 Super Stars!
