True confessions time again: I'm a font-addict. I had, at one time, over 550 fonts installed on my hard drive. (Hanging my head in shame, yes, now I know that's not good!) I also have fonts on CDs, floppy disks, and now, I have fonts in another file on my hard drive.

Keeping track of (1) what fonts I have, (2) where that font is physically located (whether it's installed or uninstalled, in another file on my hard drive, on a CD-ROM or floppy disk), and (3) what that font looks like is a difficult (if not impossible) task! Thankfully, Unitech understands and that's why they created MyFonts.

I've tested other font managers but, so far, MyFonts is my favorite. The user interface is bright, cheery, and well-organized. It will show you which font files are installed on your computer (as well as the number installed), and keep track of those that you have available on CD-ROM, disk, or elsewhere on your hard drive, but uninstalled. MyFonts also makes installing and uninstalling fonts as easy as the click of a button. It will even allow you to save your fonts within "fontpacks", for easier categorization. From within the program, you can print specimen sheets of your fonts so that you can catalog your collection. Being able to see your fonts so easily also makes tracking and eliminating duplicate font files a breeze!
