As you have probably noticed, I really love creating graphics. My graphics editor has a lot of plugin filters, used for creating special effects. The problem with having a lot of filters is that most graphics editors (that I've seen) don't organize them very well. As a matter of fact, some graphics editors have physical limitations on how many filters they can handle. After that limit, you may have the filter installed in the program, but it doesn't matter, because the program itself won't show that extra load.
Another problem that extra filters create is an extra wait when loading your graphics editor. You sit, and wait, and wait, while your hard drive cranks away at loading each and every filter.
Problems solved. Plugin Manager helps you take control over your plugins. Because it's a standalone program, it's compatible with any application which is able to load and work with plugins (like Adobe PhotoShop, Jasc's Paint Shop Pro, Adobe Premiere, After Effects and Illustrator, and many others). The user interface is very user friendly and allows you to preview the effects created by all installed plugins.
On top of all that, through Plugin Manager, you can enable/disable your plugins and entire plugin sets, so that your graphics editor will load quicker and with less wear and tear on your hard drive. You can rename plugins and move them to other categories and menus, making your plugin filters more functional for you!
The user interface also lists the author (creator) of the plugin filter, any description, and the complete path to that file (e.g. C:\Program Files\Paint Shop Pro 5\plugins\filename.8bf). Plugin Manager's toolbar allows you to launch other frequently used applications from within!
The help file within Plugin Manager was very helpful; getting to know Plugin Manager and figuring out how to use it was much easier, having read it!
I really enjoyed trying Plugin Manager. The shareware version is fully functional for 30 days. If you have a lot of plugins with your graphics editor (and don't have a clue what's where!), give Plugin Manager a try. I'm betting you'll be as sold as I am!
