It's been a long time since I enjoyed a program this much! Like many people, I have far too little time to do the little hobbies I enjoy, like cross-stitch. So reviewing this software was the perfect opportunity to merge two things I like: Software and Cross Stitch!

I downloaded and installed X-Stitch Studio. At first site, it's almost overwhelming .... there are so many things that you need to control to create your pattern. But I always take the easy way out the first time around with a new piece of software: I loaded a picture from my hard drive into the software so that it could create a cross stitch chart. All you do is stand by and help with some small size details, the software does everything else. You can then print out your chart, buy your cloth and thread, and you're on your way. For the artiste in all of us, you can also design your own pattern from scratch that's something I intend to work into, creating samplers of my own, using different fonts and pictures. If you need help, the software comes with a .pdf file manual, a help file, and there's also information at the company's website. 

You can even take family pictures into the software and create cross stitch charts of family members! I am going to take pictures of my little furry family, my cats, and create cross stitch hangings of them. 

You can also turn your cross-stitch pattern into a knitting pattern! 

The demo version, available on the company website, allows you to design and import pictures, but will not allow you to save or print your work. If you love to cross stitch, you'll adore this software. Give it a try today!
