This free form personal information manager is highly flexible and feature-rich. You create "notes" on virtually any subject, of any length, and store them in folders, which are grouped together in files. The notes are searchable, can be formatted in many ways, and are exportable to text or HTML. The AmigoLink function captures text and Web addresses directly from the clipboard. Both URLs and phone numbers are immediately clickable if entered in the correct format. You can also send and receive email, download files, import bookmarks from IE, Netscape or Opera, import delimited text files, store boilerplate text for quick access, encrypt data, set reminder alarms, and share information with people who do not have Amigo. (A free reader program is available at the company site.) The program interfaces with your scanner, if you have one, too.
Relatively minor dislikes include the primitive calendar function (display only - no way of entering anything on it) and the lack of any direct way to synchronize the Amigo! data on two computers. Amigo! also doesn't cross-reference notes, a feature I just loved about the late lamented Ecco Pro. All in all, though, this is an excellent program that will help keep you ahead of the information overload monster.
