Wanna have some fun? I enjoyed using and reviewing AV Bros. Page Curl some time ago. So, needless to say, I was thrilled to receive a review copy from the author recently of his newest program, "AV Bros. Puzzle Pro 1.2".
I am a graphics junkie as well as a Shareware Junkie so I was quite excited to try out AV Bro's latest. This is a program for people who do graphics for a living as well as those of us who just do graphics for fun. Puzzle Pro allows you to take a graphic or photo, simple or complex, and turn it into a kewl image...puzzle, mosaic, stained glass, etc... The user interface is easy to use even for the beginner but a pro can use the same interface to turn out a very interesting image. The plugin can be used with Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, Photo Paint and I suspect others, since I used it with Ultimate Paint.
The preview mode is fast and accurate. Some of the functions you can use are Beveling, changing the opacity, blur, etc. You can hide cells if you wish, giving the look of a not quite completed jigsaw puzzle or use one of the presets to change the shape of your pieces. One big plus, you can LAYER with this plugin, a definite plus particularly for those of us who do more in depth graphic design.
The trial plugin is fully functional but a "Unregistered Copy" phrase is printed multiple times over your finished product, making it unsuitable for use. However, downloading and trying it out will give you a chance to see what Puzzle Pro can do. There are some other plugins similar to this one out there but none give you the options Puzzle Pro does.
This is a fun program to use and I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for something really different.
You may order the program online or via phone, fax or mail. Visa, Discover, MC or American Express cards are accepted for credit card orders.
The home page for the program is: http://www.avbros.com/software/. Here you can see some samples of the output of Puzzle Pro and also, see how easy the interface is to use.
If nothing else, give it a try just for the fun of it!
