This program has got to have every solitaire game in the Western world in it! Actually it contains over 300 different games. If you register this program, you will get free-for-life tech help, free upgrades to Pretty Good Solitaire 2001 and inexpensive upgrades after that. You also get rid of the nag screens, for an additional $5 you can get your registration codes and the newest version a CD snail mail. You will also receive the eternal gratitude of the author.
The options available are changing the card backs, keeping the game statistics, vegas scoring, save game position on exit, show game taskbar, show game statusbar, confirm new games, play sound, and minimize to taskbar tray. Some of the features are undo, redo, [which replays the moves you just undo-ed in case you change your mind] and something I’ve never seen before called snapshot position. If you have 2 or more moves that are good-looking, you can click on snapshot position, and you can make several moves, then click on undo to snapshot button, and it will take you back to the ‘fork in the road’.
When you open the game you will see Solitaire Explorer, and a full list of all the games. Solitaire Explorer tells you exactly where to go to find the extra options, and the other interesting feature of this program, and it also has the games separated by types, plus you can put your favorites in the favorite category. There is a solitaire wizard; this allows you to create your own solitaire game. In the help files, there is a tutorial so that you can be walked through the process.
The help files aren’t bad. Overall, it seems to be a Pretty Good Program.
