Who says you can't teach an old dog? *G* I'm learning all the time ....
Turns out there are different types of spyware: Advertiser spyware and computer monitoring spyware. Up until now, the spyware utilities I've reviewed have been the advertiser spyware variety. Computer monitoring software, you know, the kind a suspicious spouse or boss might install on a pc to see what's going on when they're not watching -- like Spector, KeyKey, 007 STARR, Boss Everywhere and I-See-U. SpyCop is designed specifically to detect the computer monitoring type.
I downloaded and installed SpyCop Free. Both, as usual, were uneventful. After installation, I brought up SpyCop and had it scan my system. The first thing I noticed is that it takes FOREVER! Seriously, it took between 10-15 minutes to scan my computer. It found nothing. I feel better already *lol*.
Spycop's webpage has a faq section that is informative. They also encourage users to write them if they have questions the faq doesn't cover. It's refreshing to see a company which distributes freeware offer to be so helpful!
If you're wondering whether your boss or spouse are spying on you, try SpyCop Free.
