This is the third revision of FTP Voyager that I've reviewed. Since I design websites as well as review software, I use an FTP constantly for uploading files and downloading software. Since I found FTP Voyager, I use it exclusively!
FTP Voyager is a very powerful FTP client. Its interface is very clean and simple: Like Windows Explorer, it's drag-and-drop. With a single click, you can transfer files between servers or resume interrupted uploads or downloads. Even someone with no previous experience with FTP clients can use Voyager with very little practice.
New to FTP Voyager 8:
*The ability to move objects in FTP Voyager. You can move files and folders from remote to local, local to remote, server to server, and from FTP Voyager to Windows® Explorer or desktop.
*A new optional window, called a transfer pane, which gives you information on file transfers in progress: Destination, location, estimated completion time, and current progress. The transfer window can be hidden and used in conjunction with or instead of the separate transfer windows.
*The ability to customize the layout of its windows. You can choose from the Classic layout, the inverted Topsy-Turvy layout, side-by-side layout, side-by-side inverted "Cute" layout, or a custom layout of your choice.
*Smart Reconnect, which will automatically reconnect to FTP servers when a sent command fails or the command connection is abnormally terminated.
And much, much more.
RhinoSoft is a great customer-oriented company, with a wealth of information available both inside its programs and on its website. If you have questions you can't find answers for, RhinoSoft's customer service is prompt when responding to support questions.
The shareware version is fully functional but time-limited to 30 days. I have no doubt that you'll enjoy this program as much as I have. If you need a fully featured, dependable FTP client, this is it!
