I am very impressed Pegasus Mail. It's freeware, but it's a fully featured e-mail client. Despite its many features, Pegasus remains very simple to understand and use.

Not only can you send, read, print and otherwise manipulate mail, Pegasus allows:

mail filtering;
mail merge;
use of large mail databases;
preview of mail before downloading;

and supports:

multiple identities, addressbooks, and folder formats;
Novell NetWare networks;
offline read and composition;
third-party extensions and mail forms;
spell check;
message higlighting;

and much, much more.

As a matter of fact, Pegasus provides more features than many e-mail clients for which you'll pay a hefty price.

The download and install were completely uneventful. The user interface is clean, sensible and uncluttered. You'll have Pegasus mastered within about 5 minutes of the initial install; it's that easy.

I heartily recommend Pegasus Mail ... and will be keeping an eye on this software. This version is the last for this series; the next revision will be 4.0, a complete rewrite, so they say. I'll be eagerly awaiting its release.
