Music Collector is a CDDB2 enabled Music Collection Manager which will catalogue your CDs, LPs, DVDs, MP3 files and more.

The installation was completely uneventful. Music Collector's main screen displays your albums in an explorer-like screen, either as a list or grouped into folders (separated by artists, genres, formats, labels, studios, etc.). The main screen's listing is configurable. The "Field Selection" screen allows you to choose which fields are visible on the list. Your list of albums or tracks can be sorted using any field, in either ascending or descending order, by clicking on the header of the list. You can even create your own complex sort order using the "Sort Order" screen.

All lists are fully searchable and capable of being filtered. You can view only your CDs, or only your albums, etc. Or you can view only albums or CDs by a particular artist.

Music Collector no longer uses CDDB2, they use their own online music database now. This means that you don't have to type anything to add your CDs to Music Collector's database, because you can scan the CD in your CD-ROM drive to retrieve artist, title, year, label, genre, notes, etc. from their servers on the internet.

I totally enjoyed's Music Collector. As the spouse of a record collector, it would certainly make my life easier! The unregistered version is limited to 25 database entries, but registration is only $39.95 U.S.: It's well worth the meager price! Download it today!
