I am absolutely blown away by this program!

I've always wanted to learn to paint with oils but never quite got around to it. NaturePainter is absolutely the most fun I've had in forever! The user interface is clean and easy to understand, and tutorials are included for those of us who know nothing about painting tools. After watching the beginners' tutorial, I was off -- and I haven't been able to leave it alone since!

NaturePainter has a color palette and uses tools (brushes) named the same as those you paint with (liner, filbert, flat, round, oval, and fan brushes, as well as a palette knife). From all appearances, the "brushes" are designed to work just as they would if you were painting with oils on a canvas. Four tutorials are included (my only suggestion would be more tutorials, for those of us who are artistically challenged!). I've even uploaded a painting I created with NaturePainter (and framed with Paint Shop Pro) for you to see what a non-artistic creature could create after only a few hours with NaturePainter.

The shareware version of NaturePainter is fully functional, but lacks features available in the registered version, i.e., the shareware version doesn't have as many tutorials, the "save" function is disabled, and it has a "nag" screen at startup. Inspirational pictures are included with NaturePainter; the shareware version has fewer than the registered version.

I heartily recommend NaturePainter and give it a five star Junkie rating!
