Pro PC Suite is not as large as OpenOffice or Star, but it has a number of advanced features beyond the usual text and paragraph formatting options. It supports tables, headers, footnotes, indexing, graphics, and send to email. Traditional MDI, Multiple Document Interface, allows several documents to be open at the same time.

In addition to opening plain text, RTF and HTML, Pro PC also opens MS Word and Palm documents. Unfortunately, the support for RTF is restricted to opening documents, not saving them. Also, when spell checking an RTF document, it doesn't recognize contractions. These are significant problem for those with large numbers of RTF files. Also, as the native save is .wpd, Pro PC Suite conflicts with Word Perfect. Someone without Word Perfect on their system should not have a problem.

Use of program requires free registration. An upgraded version, 602 Pro PC Suite Plus, is available for $29.95. Plus has a thesaurus, database support, mail merge, text to speech, and RTF support.
