 I've been a big fan of dual pane explorers for years and I gotta say this one kicks butt. The interface is handsome and highly customizable. You have a number of folder view choices including one that emulates the Norton Commander and you can even create your own custom layouts. The toolbar provides instant access to just about any file management function you can think of including; syncing folders, zip/extract, fast find and a powerful document viewer. It also contains the most commonly used functions like copy to, rename, file properties and more. In addition to the toolbar there is a Drive Bar to instantly display root folders and a Launch Bar that you can add shortcuts to for frequently used programs and files.

I found the program very easy to use and I fell in love with it's ability to handle all my files with ease. Quick Access allows you to add folders or files to a drop down list so you no longer need to search for items you use most. The Fast Find utility is an advanced search with many filters for refining your searches. Zipping and extracting files couldn't be easier and it handles most compression formats although it balked at extracting .rar archives. Tech support says this is due to WinRar keeping the format confidential but that full support will come in the near future. The FTP client was very easy to set up and I was connected in less than two minutes. With your local files in one pane and the remote files in another, it just couldn't get any easier to upload/download from your FTP server.

The Viewer is exceptional. Not only will it display just about any image format it also will display the content of most documents as well. Even PDF docs! It can be docked to the interface or can exist as a separate window. Full screen, zoom, copy and print options available from a drop down menu make it a powerful tool. One of the coolest features is the File Tracker. It adds document and folder histories unique to each application. From the open or save dialog you will see 3 small buttons added to the top of the dialog box. They allow you to view file or folder history and the option to preview a selected file within the open/save dialog box. How cool! it even adds the ability to resize the dialog boxes so you don't have to scroll for days to find the file you're looking for.

Add to all this, support for downloading images from your digital camera, an MP3 playlist creator/editor, an advanced MP3 tag editor (ID3v1&2), file encryption, file destroyer, graphic conversion and more. The help files are extremely will written but if you should ever need it, fast friendly support is just a click away.There are so many cool features this program has to offer that it is impossible to list them all here. Considering that it would take at least 10 separate programs to do all this program does, ExplorerPlus is a great value at $39.95.
