Orbz takes a different approach in game playing. The entire game is wrapped around cartoon type shading and images, which allows it to have many nice colors that absorb you into it while the background music draws you into it.

Orbz is an arcade game set in colorful 3D environments. The object is simple (or is it?) You are to shoot your orb at targets that are located throughout 14 distinct courses. It sounds almost too simple but you are to shoot your targets in a race to score the most points. During game play you will find that it can become more and more intense as you reach each new level. In many levels it is wise to plan your strategy well in order to achieve the best shots and scores. As in most games of this nature it would not be complete without power-ups. Orbz has plenty of them that aid you to better your scores as well as to out maneuver your opponent if playing in the online mode.

In the online mode Orbz lets you compete against other players over the Internet or Local Area Network. There can be up to a total of ten players, which also includes computer opponents called Botz. You can enter a game, host a game or join a Lobby where matches will be coordinated by selecting the course you want to play, the number of rounds you want in a match and a time limit. If you think you have want it takes and feel that you are the best Orbz player around you can opt for the world wide ranking system that's available and compete for the ultimate title of being the Orbz Champion!

In the Solo Mode you play it as a normal computer game. Here too you must complete each Level in order to advance to the next higher one. Sounds easy, right? Each Level is comprised of difficult challenges where you must score the most points in different scenarios in a race against time. Your aim is to get the most points to gain medals. You must meet the minimum of a Bronze in order to continue on to the next Level. For every five Gold medals you win you get you will unlock a new Orb that you then get to use. You might be thinking about now; "That sounds way to easy for me!" Try it and see. Each Level gets progressively harder with more objectives overcome and in some cases the time limits gets shorter!

Orbz is a fun game with an interesting twist. Rather than your normal shoot 'em up, Orbz makes game playing fun again. It was developed by an independent game team and warrants your looking at it. I don't think you will be too disappointed. It's fun, it's cheap enough, it's colorful, it's unique, it has it's own section on the Forums and it's Orbz!
