Anti- Trojan is Trojan remover which detects and deletes Trojan
horses using a portscan, registry- and disk scan. I was impressed with the
simplicity of the program and the ease of installation. I have to say overall I
was extremely impressed with the program! I performed a scan of my computer and
the overall speed of the process was problem free and painless. The first part
of the scan involves using the portscan to find open ports on your PC. Detected
my ports and did exactly as described. The program then scans the system
registry by using over 9000 known Trojan filenames. If a Trojan is identified by
the registry-scan, it will be removed from the disk. It also removes and detects
trojans from your hard disk. You can set the program to delete automatically so
there is no need to do any more work.
One of the nice features of this program is you can specify which folders to
scan if you don't want to do your whole hard drive. Anti-Trojan also has a
background-guard watches for active trojans while you are working on your PC..
Once your scan is done it displays and easy to read HTML report that can be
printed out.
The only negative I noticed with the program is there is no help file or link to
a help file when you have the program open. But that did not stop me from giving
this 5 STARS all across the board. I was impressed with the program and hats off
to the developers. At $21.95 Anti-Trojan is a great buy.
Company Comments:
Thank you very much for your 5 star rating!
But you have two wrong statements in your report:
1. "The program then scans the system registry by using over 9000 known Trojan
filenames." It doesn't detect the trojans by the filename, it searches with
trojan signatures. Most trojans can have any filename.
2. "The only negative I noticed with the program is there is no help file or
link to a help file.." There is a help included with the setup package. Once
installed, you can open the html-helpfile via start - programs - Anti-Trojan -
Help. But you're right, it isn't available directly from the running program.
