Interstellar Trader 2

Type of Program: Game
Supported Platforms: Win98/ME/NT 4x/XP/2000
Company Name: Stormcloud Creations
Version: 1.3
Price: $19.95
Installed Size: 9.7 MB
The installation was easy and intuitive. You can put the program
files where you want them. No re-boot, you can see the readme automatically
after installation.
The demo ends after 40 Staryears (turns).
I see this game as kind of a mix between Monopoly and a Sim. Set in outer
space..
The graphics are really nice. You go from planet to planet making deals. You can
buy and sell goods, invest in the goods of different planets. The economy of the
planets differs so commodities and investments are different on each planet. (I
lost my butt in lettuce)
You can do battle too. As you travel from planet to planet you are sometimes
attacked by pirates. They damage your ship, steal your cargo and are not really
nice people. You can however pay them off by giving them credits while you are
on a planet. That doesn't stop them but it cuts down on your chances of getting
attacked. You can also upgrade your ship to have a better chance against them.
Here is what the company says about the game:
A strategy/simulation trading game where you become an outer space merchant,
traveling from planet to planet in the galaxy, buying and selling from over 200
different items. Game features: Randomly generated economy and planet set-up
every game, battle 4 different clans of pirates, upgrade your ship or buy a new
ship, invest in local business and mutual funds, gamble in the Galactic Casino,
and more!
In conclusion. I really liked it. It is refreshing change from other games. You
get a diverse gaming experience that is lots of fun. I think that even before
your 40 Staryears (turns) are up you will be buying this game.
