The install was uneventful, you are given the chance to install the program files where ever you want. You do have to re-boot though to finish the install.

I can only imagine that you are reading this review for a couple of reasons. First off that you have lost some data and are trying to evaluate the different programs available for data recovery. Second you are wanting to have this type of program in your arsenal just in case. The third reason is that this program is from iolo technologies and you already have one or more of their programs and because of there high quality you want to check out there latest offering.

Now they are no fools at iolo technologies. The downloaded program allows three recovery actions before purchase is required.

If you are familiar with other iolo technologies programs you will know that they go the extra mile when they make a program. Not only does Search and Recover recover data for you it also has some other useful utilities built in. They are the File Terminator and the Emergency Disk Image. The File Terminator wipes data out so that it cannot be recovered. The File Terminator, if enabled can be accessed by just right clicking a file, neat huh?
The Emergency Disk Image does just that makes a disk image so that you can recover a whole drive.

You can also use Search and Recover to recover lost email from Outlook, Outlook Express, Netscape Email, and Eudora.

My objections to other programs of this type are three, first of all they usually require boot disks and running in DOS, they are really slow and complicated. Plus they are usually very expensive. I might as well throw in a fourth. They only do one thing recover data.

Search and Recover though works right in Windows is intuitive fast and reasonably priced.

So I set it to work on 4 drives that had only used for 3 months to see how many deleted files it would find and how fast. Wow! It found thousands! All in about 5 minutes. Truly amazing.

In conclusion. I tried I liked it. You will too.
