The installation of CATVids is easy and intuitive. Not only can you place the program files where you want them but it gives you the option of creating Desktop icons and creating Start Menu icons. A nice touch. But then CATVids is loaded with nice touches as you will see.

The version that you download is a demo version that is limited to 25 videos that you can try out for 30 days. Fair enough.

The first time that you open CATVids it opens it's Help file to the Getting Started. A sample database is also loaded so that you easily get an idea of the features of CATVids.

Okay now lets get down to the nits and gritties. How easy is CATVids to use? And does it really help you catalog your collection? I have almost no experience with this type of program. But after quickly looking at the getting started menu I asked my son to hand me anyone of his movie DVDs. He handed me a Scooby-Doo DVD. This as it turned out was a good choice for testing CATVids. The reason is that when I used the internet feature to get info about this Scooby-Doo DVD a whole bunch of Scooby-Doo DVDs showed up, but with just a glance at the one he handed me I could pick out which one it was and then in a New York minute all of the data about this movie was download and entered in my database.

So the answer to the two questions:
How easy is CATVids to use?
Very easy to use.

And does it really help you catalog your collection?
Listen if you are reading this you probably wondering if you have any use for this type of program to catalog that mountain of movies and tv shows. Well after trying CATVids for about 5 minutes you will be convinced that you can't do without it and will fork over the dough for the full version.

Did I mention that the interface is really nice to look at too?

In conclusion CATVids is Great!
