The installation of Link Checkup is easy and intuitive. You can place the program files where you want them. During the install you are given the options of creating icons for either all users or current user, plus whether or not you want to create a desktop icon.

What Link Checkup will do is check up on websites that link to your site, or for that matter any site that you pick. There are a number of reason that you might want to do this, including checking up on sites that you are paying for advertising on. Plus of course if you have a link exchange partnership with a site and they delete the link to your site you want to know about it.

Of course you can do this manually. That is if you have a lot time on your hands and nothing better to do.

Link Checkup will check Google, MSN, Yahoo and Altavista. It has options that allow you to exclude domains, allow only one result per domain, do not include duplicates, and include homepage results only. Plus you can pick the maximum results to return, and connection timeout (seconds).

Link Checkup will check up on a number of sites all at once, plus it will also check on a sites Google page rank, and you can import and export a list of sites from a file.
