This program was developed by a "garage programmer". And I can't say I have found anything else that compares. It is easy to set keystrokes to transfer your usernames and passwords to your browser windows. You can have this little gizmo make up passwords for you. And you don't have to jump around windows to get the info where you need it, like no go to pw keeper and copy username go to browser and paste go back to pw keeper and copy password and go back to browser and paste.

The install was quick and the program is very small. You can have your file stored anywhere you can save files, USB drive, SD card etc. You can also rename your pw file anything you like provided you keep the extension the same. Your file itself can be password protected. Oubliette also allows for printing of your list of accounts or exporting. I found the export feature nice to have I lock a hard copy of my secure info away in a safe. Just in case. And that means no more hand jotted notes on scraps of paper to keep track of my account access information.

This app beat out a few others I have tried out. Even some that you have to pay for. There was one bug that was not very hard to live with. If you have more than one browser window open the program sometimes will not know which window you are trying to send the user/pw to. So you may have to manually go to the record. But that doesn't happen often and it is because of the convenient keystroke feature that I would rather keep than loose.

The programmer is aware of his users, his web page seems to cover all support needed. There are extensive programming notes, bug lists and fixes and detailed instructions.

Note: For Windows 95 and 98, you may need to install version 4.01 of Microsoft common controls, if it is not yet present on your system.
