The installation of SnagIt is easy and intuitive. You are going to find though that you have a number of choices to make. SnagIt has the ability to integrate into your system in a number of useful ways. Some of those are optional when you do the install. The first choices are the SnagIt Studio annotation editor, the printer capture driver and whether you want add SnagIt to the right-click menu in Windows Explorer. The next choices are Add-Ins to applications, like for Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer and others. The end of the installation process is when you select where you want shortcuts and if you want SnagIt to start with Windows.

When you start the SnagIt trial version you are presented with a nag screen that has the usual buy etc options, but it also has another one. It is to "Take the Tour" if you click on this you will be taken to a webpage with a video tour. I would advise you to take it. There are video's on Image Capture, Text Capture, Web Capture and Video Capture.

The reason that I recommend the video tour is that even if you think you know what SnagIt can do and what you want it for you are sure to get more ideas from those videos of the ways that you can use SnagIt.
