If you're looking for a high quality program that lets you
create digital photo albums, product catalogs, scrapbooks and e-newsletters with
a realistic, book-like interface and flipping pages that are more natural,
familiar and intuitive to a wider audience, then you won't go wrong with
FlipAlbum 6 Pro. Albums you create can be burned to CD in MPEG-2 format which
can then be played in most modern DVD players as well as PC.
Just look at what it can do:
- create pages with multiple photos and text annotations
- have as many pages in an album as your CD can hold
- add MP3 tracks as page or background music
- embed MPEG-1 or AVI video on any page
- have multiple albums on a CD. Album covers will be displayed in digital
bookshelf; clicking on an album cover will open the album.
- use built-in themes for album covers, page & book backgrounds, and separators
- burn CDs that will play on both PCs and Macs** (no software installation

You can create your own themes and any fonts you use are embedded eliminating
the need for the end user to have that font on their machine. You can include
GIFs animated or otherwise, add your own crop shapes, select different built in
templates which can be used commercially and customize the Table of Contents.
Positioning of objects and annotations on the page is drag and drop and there is
of course snap to grid if required as well as an align tool. If it all seems a
bit bewildering there is a QuickStart Wizard. A 3-step wizard to guide new users
in creating an album quickly by opening a folder of images, selecting the page
layout and a theme for your photo album. The list of features goes on - a built
in Photo editor, 3D and shadow effects, transparency support, translucent
annotation text tool and works with .opf, .gif, .tif, .bmp, .jpg, .pcx, ico,
.wmf, .pcd, .png, .psd, .wav, .mid, .avi, .mpg, and .mp3. formats. Plus for
copyright protection, FlipAlbum 6 Pro lets you encrypt your photos, set
passwords and expiry dates, disable printing and add watermarks to the photos in
your albums.
FlipAlbum 6 Pro is a very comprehensive but not complex tool with which you can
produce stunning distributable digital photo albums, product catalogs,
scrapbooks and e-newsletters with consummate ease and I can't recommend it too
highly. They say "Try before you buy", I say "Try and you will buy".
