This screensaver allows you to view the edge of chaos through the Game of Life cellular automation. This is a very famous mathematical game, and there is an excellent induction to it, it’s history, rules, variations, and more in the help file.

You can choose no music or add music from your computer. You can show time, show frame rate, set the exit screensaver to escape key and allow monitor saving. You can set minimum and maximum cells across and set simulation rate, which is generations per second. You can set the background coloring or run it on the desktop, and set the color of the pixels in the screensaver. You can click on wraparound at the edges and disable vsync. You can make screenshots or make the wallpaper of an image that was in the screensaver. You can also set the rule, which is the way the simulation works and governs what life is created. There is also an excellent explanation of the different forms of life and the patterns they create in the help file.like guns that fire missiles.

This is a quite interesting screensaver.
