Type of Program: Excel Add-In
Supported Platforms: Windows
Company Name: Forgram Software
Installed Size: 200k
The installation of XMLtoXLS is easy however since it is
actually an Excel plug-in and not exactly a software program it is a bit
different. What you do is start Excel go to Tools/Add-Ins then browse to the
place where you unzipped XMLtoXLS.xla. If this all seems a bit much for you to
understand the folks at Forgram Software have on their Help page an "illustrated
on installing an Excel Add In".
To use XMLtoXLS you open Excel, go to Tools and click on XMLtoXLS, then browse
to the XML file that you want converted to Excel. Yes it is that simple.
I suppose the only question left is does it work? I mean after you have browsed
to that XML file do you really actually come up with data imported into Excel in
a useful meaningful manner? The answer is a resounding YES! I even tried it out
on some really big files and it worked just fine.
In the Demo version there are some rows with "***" in each cell and "Demo only"
in the first column. After registration these lines are omitted and show the
data from the XML file for those rows. Fair enough.
In conclusion if you want a tool for converting XML files to Excel look no
further XMLtoXLS does the job, it is also easy to use and the price is right.
