Alpha Journal is a journal program with a bunch of goodies thrown in to help you with your writing. When I first opened Alpha Journal I was reminded that I had thirty days to try the pro version of the program then I was greeted by a screen asking me to create a username and password. The password feature locks your journal in an encrypted file so nosey spouses(or kid brothers) can't get in and read your life story.

Alpha Journal is straight forward and user friendly offering all the common tools usually found in word editors, so you can change your font size, center your text or what ever else your used to doing in wordpad or notepad. Included In the journal are a calendar, and a variety of useful options including the ability to insert pictures, insert the current time and date and a spell check for those of us who can't type a sentence without misspelling a word or two(guilty!).

Alpha Journal comes in two different versions, the pro version which is what the demo is, and a standard version for those who don't want all the extra bells and whistles. The professional version of Alpha journal weighs in at almost thirty dollars, but the standard can be picked up for 19.95 so theres a price for any budget.

All in all Alpha journal is good at what it does and anyone looking for a journaling program(or notebook) might want to give it a look.
