Desktop assistant is, as the name suggests a small program to make common windows tasks more simple.

When first started it performs a brief scan of some sort then pops up a message asking you to activate it. This can be done by right clicking the windows task bar then through a context menu under toolbars'.

Desktop assistant then integrates with windows and lives as part of your task bar. Through the desktop Assistant you can then search for files, launch programs, view running processes in memory and terminate them, start an Internet search or numerous other tasks.

The program itself is fairly simple to use as well as fully configurable so if you want to do more advanced things with it such as create quick launch hot keys that's an option.

Overall, the program is pretty complete and priced fairly but there is no help file so you will need to get through this one yourself or, contact their support department for help.
