Hard drive Inspector is a program to find and diagnose problems with your hard disks. The trial version(which is what I tested) will pop up a timed wait popup when you start the program as well as only diagnose your primary hard drive. The registered version has no such limitations.

The program itself is pretty easy to understand and displays the condition of your drive with a color code. Green for okay, yellow for possible issues and red for serious problems.

Fortunately my hard drive came up green for reliability, performance and error resistance which are the three areas the program checks for. Other information the program can display includes the drives' manufacturer, the number of heads and cylinders the drive has and the disks' model number.

You can configure the program to check for any changes in disk condition at a set interval, and save a report to look at later if you so choose.

All and all the program is solid and dependable. The color codes make diagnosis at a glance easy and it offers enough detail for even the geekiest amongst us.
