Owl commander is a file manager and viewing program which can function as a replacement to windows explorer.

Before I get in to the program there are a couple things I need to mention. First off after you download the trial version of their software you then have to revisit their website to get a trial code, which took only a few seconds but it was a bit annoying.

Secondly, the program does take a good bit to load with no other tasks running except email, on my and 4000 with 1gb of ram this program made me wait a bit so be warned if you have a slow pc you may be in for a long wait.


Now I'll move on to what the program does right, it works well as a file viewer displaying files or directories and their size and attributes. It also has a lot of buttons for quick short cuts to commonly used folders like the windows desktop.

The program also has every file command you can think of from cut, copy and paste to more advanced functions like looking at the files statistics or comparing one file to another.

If you are looking for a file manager this one is okay but the price is over the top and the install is a bit of a pain..
