Color by number is a fun tool which allows you to convert photos in to color by number images for printing and coloring.

When opened you are brought to the main screen of Color by number from which you can open existing projects create new ones and edit your work. When I opened a picture from my disk I was walked through every editing step from start to finish by a wizard. First I chose the picture, then I made adjustments, and finally made my color pallet selection on how many colors and thus numbers would be used.

In short it took me only a few minutes to generate a picture ready to print for some one to color. While the functionality isn't perfect (because you'll loose some fine detail) it does in the end do very well considering what I gave it to work with.

The program is twenty dollars, which is a good price for what this does and it may save you some money buying coloring books.
