Cybersky is a program use for tracking stars and performing
other astronomy related activities an a digital sky.
I had some real problems downloading from the authors site, and finally ended up
getting the file from TUCOWS which was a bit of pain but not too bad.
When I got in to the programs main screen I was looking at a display of some of
the major constellations which by its self is a cool screen as now I know what
to look for in the night sky.
Also from this screen, you can click on any star and find out its exact
magnitude and distance at least as best as we have estimates for). The program
has literally dozens of tools to display information on everything from planets,
to comets and asteroids and even 'deep sky objects'.
I'm not afraid to admit a lot of this is above my head, I just never got that
deeply into space related science however, I'll also point out even I can see
this program has a load of information to offer. That says a lot for the
program, and I have a significant other who I am sure will get lost in it for
awhile to come as she loves her science.
