Local Cooling is a tiny utility designed to save power and tell
you what you've saved in return in resources.
When you sign up at their web page you can create an account to track how much
you've saved in electricity, water, and trees. This is all figured based on what
it costs in resources to create a unit of energy.
The program itself is straight forward and runs most of the time in the system
tray. You can customize the program to turn off you monitor, system or hard
disks and in doing so save some energy and thus raise your stats for what you
The program is small, it doesn't have any bugs, doesn't cost any thing and gives
you a rosy glow from having helped do a little bit to save the environment. If
your using a power conservation tool now, it might not be a bad idea to switch
and at least get the feel good of going green.
