Ok I think that the first two things that you have to pay
attention to about StaffCal is the version number (0.6) and the price (Free).
This means to me at least that StaffCal is still in Beta and it probably won't
be free forever. So get yours now..
StaffCal is not for your granny to keep track of her book club meetings. It is
as it's name suggests a full blown server side staff calendar and scheduling
tool. Not only can StaffCal keep track of all of your workers and their projects
but also stuff like your vehicle's too.
Take a look:

You need to know this also:
StaffCal follows a client/server model, where data is held on a central server
or servers and StaffCal clients connect to the servers to access data.
Terminology
Realm - A company, with one or more sites
Site - A server with one or more groups
Group - A set of objects (sales people, all staff, visitors, meeting rooms etc)
Object - Anything that requires a calendar eg people (staff, visitors), room
bookings, assett bookings (vehicles, machinery, whiteboards, projectors etc)
Software
StaffCal Client is loaded on individual computers for users to view and change
appointments etc
StaffCal Manager is loaded on only a few machines from which the system will be
managed. Users can set up and change sites, groups and objects within groups.
The first thing I did was to install the StaffCal data store. on my server.
(BTW I was able to do everything only because of the easy to use and intuitive
Help file that comes with StaffCal)
Then I installed StaffCal Site Manager, then the StaffCal client.
Well frankly I was amazed! StaffCal really is everything they claim it is and
easy to use. I heartily recommend it.
