The installation of UltimateDefrag 2008 is easy and intuitive, you can place the program files where you want them. The trial version is good for 14 days, fair enough.

The first time I opened UltimateDefrag 2008 I got an error, opening the program. The error though told me to right click and run as administrator. That I did and then it ran just fine. Also I got this: File last access time updating feature is turned off on your system. Defragmenting by "last accessed" will not work properly. Do you want to turn this feature on? I decided to leave that alone for now. Then I got Boot optimize feature is turned on your system. Do you want to turn it off? I left that alone too. After that I got: Would you like to set UltimateDefrag as a default defragmenter? For the time being I picked No.

I then analyzed my C drive and found out that it was fragmented 56%. This took less than a minute. I then pushed Options and got this screen:

File selection screen allows you to modify speed of file placement. You can even select files by wildcard or even specify how much data you want to remain as High Performance data. UltimateDefrag will in this instance keeps your 30 Gb of most frequently used data in the High Performance zone.

I left UltimateDefrag 2008 set at the Default and did the defrag.

OK here is the deal. UltimateDefrag 2008 is going to do a fantastic job of defragmenting your drives. It also is going to give you more control over the way your files are moved. Take a look at Boot Time screenshot above to get a better idea. Here is what the company has to say:
