unconventional. You apparently cannot run the setup from WinZip
so that it can be uninstalled from within Winzip. But no matter,
because you will want to keep this program, also there is a good
reason for the way they have set up the install. It is setup so
that you can extract the setup files to 3 floppie disks, an
option most of the current bloatware these days does not give
you. It also lets you pick the directory and drive for the
program files.
In this new version they start you out with the records of a
sample company, a nice touch. This program may be small as
programs go these days, but it sure has all the features a small
business needs for their accounting system. It even has some
small but nice things like space for you to enter your vendors
email and web addresses. Discount terms, like the %, number of
discount days, Net days, and the Default number of days to due
date are all there and easy to enter. Another nice feature, in
these days of everyone doing business internationally is the
ability to set up foreign currencies for your accounts. Contacts
and notes for each company record are there too.
You can even print checks with this powerful program. All of the
standard accounting accounts are here, Accounts Receivable,
Accounts Payable General Ledger and General info. Simple enough
for a home business yet powerful enough for a medium-sized
corporation. They start you out with sample company files, then
after you have had a chance to study them you can delete them and
a setup wizard starts for your company. All in all this is a
great package. I heartily recommend it.
