(Screen
Shot)Here's a simple 32-bit Notepad-style text/HTML editor that differs from
Notepad and Notepad-replacers in several handy ways. Unlike Notepad, Cobpad's multiple
document interface (MDI) allows you to edit several files at a time, has drag-and-drop
interface, and an attractive toolbar (including buttons for cut, paste, copy, search,
search again, and undo). And unlike most Notepad-replacers, Cobpad has speed buttons that,
with a single click, will take you directly to system files, Windows Explorer, and the
Control Panel.
Cobpad also allows you to encode files through a simple encoding method. The author
invites anyone who'd like a more secure file-encoding capability to email him directly for
the required upgrade support. (See Support, below.)
What's missing from Cobpad that you'll see in many Notepad replacers is the selectability
of fonts, colors, print options, filter options, and many user preferences. But, if you're
interested in efficient, no-frills ASCII and HTML editing, plus speedy access to system
files, folders and controls, you'll be happy with Cobpad's suite of features.
