Dates is a simple, freeware program, which keeps track of every important (for you) date, such as birthdays, anniversaries, etc. As it is a DOS program, it displays a dull interface, but its real attractions are elsewhere. Besides the feature (adding the executable in your PC's AUTOEXEC.BAT) which provides notice about scheduled dates every time you turn on the PC, other interesting features are represented by the absolutely free way of introducing dates (United States or European formats, numbers and names used together), by the option of showing the events happening within a given number of days, by the option of setting multiple date files, each with their own day threshold. And there is more; you can add comment lines that will be eventually displayed, add different colours in the display line, or sort entries before display based on the number of days before the event occurs. The only drawback? To control all this power you have to type the command adding all the options you need. Just like every other DOS command. But for a powerful freeware program like this you'll be ready to make some sacrifice, won't you?
