Every time you send a file or files to somebody
via email you have to open your email program, click on new,
click on attached and more for each file you want to send and
that sends the file in it's original size. If you want to zip up
the files to send them first you have to open you zip program and
choose the file or files you want to zip then still go through
the steps above to attach the zip file to the email. If you do
this enough times it gets old.
Now with EmailZIP you no longer have to open your zip program or
your email program to send files in compressed format via email.
Start EmailZIP and a window opens with an explorer type file
directory window on the left and an empty box on the right.
Simply select the files you want to send in the directory on the
left and click Add or Add-All if you want to send all the files
displayed on the left and they appear in the box on right. You
can select files from multiple directories to add to the list to
the right. EmailZIP will ask you if you want to include the
directories whenever you add them to the list. If you
accidentally include a file in the list that you don't want to
send simply click on the file and click remove to remove it from
the list. If you decide you want to start all over just click
clear. If you would rather use Windows Explorer to add files to
the list you can select the files you want to include in Windows
Explorer and Drag them to EmailZIP and drop them. When you are
done including all the files you want to send click OK.
Other options in the original screen is the ability to enter a
file extension such as *.txt so that only files with that
extension will appear in the directory window. Another option is
the ability to view graphic files with the BMP, JPG, GIF, PNG,
TIF, PCX, WMF extensions. Just click on the graphic file in the
directory list and it will appear in the resizable graphic box.
To use the graphic viewer option you have to put a check beside
"View Pictures". Of course there is also a button for
help and a button for registering the program.
After you click OK a new window appears. In this window you type
in your STMP host, your email address, and your name (the last
information entered into these boxes will be there next time you
use EmailZIP) under the From Heading. Then type in email address
or addresses you want the files sent to under the To Heading. To
send to more one address separate the addresses with a
";". If you want the files to go to somebody but you
don't want their address to appear in the email message put their
address in the ListBcc box (you can use multiple addresses here
also). Bcc stands for Blind Courtesy Copy. Note addresses you
type in will be kept in a drop down list so you don't have to
enter these addresses every time you use EmailZIP. After you have
entered everybody you want the files to go to simply type in a
subject for the email message and any text that you want to
appear to appear in the email message and click send. EmailZIP
will tell you to make sure you are connected to the internet and
then click OK. It will then start sending the email with the zip
file attached. Note the zip file will always be called Email.zip.
Once you click ok a progress window will appear and when it is
done sending it will tell you. Then you are brought back to the
second the window so you can resend the same files to somebody
else. If you don't want to send them to anybody else just click
cancel and it will bring you back to the original EmailZIP window
where you can start selecting other files to send other people or
exit.
At the bottom of each email there will be an ad for EmailZIP one
of those that says this message created by EmailZIP... and so on.
You can evaluate the program for 30 days before registering it.
Registering it will give you free upgrades for a year and 3
months of email support. Instructions for registering is included
in the help.
