Everything I own is a database program where you enter things you own. It
is an easy to use yet comprehensive database. Each record has 4 tabs for entering
information. The first tab is Item Information which has fields for Name of Item,
Description, Quantity, Brand Name, Type of Item, Location, Model Number, and Serial
Number. The second tab is Purchase/Warranty Information which has fields for Purchased
From (drop down), Purchase Date, Cost per Item, Total Cost, Warranty Expiration Date. and
Type of Warranty. The third tab is Condition/Replacement which lets you enter Condition of
Item and Replacement Cost. The last tab is Comments which is a text box for entering
whatever you want like distinguishing marks and more.
The program eliminates for having to type a lot of information by providing configurable
drop down boxes for several of the fields. The fields that have drop down boxes are Brand
Name, Type of Item, Location, Purchased From, and Condition of Item. You can add your own
items to all of these drop down lists except Condition of Item.
The initial view is set on browse which shows a list of items you have records for. You
can click on any item to get the detail view. Other options is the ability to check
warranty, sort in several ways, enter a filter to show only certain records,
backup/restore and the ability to search in Name of Item, Description, Location, or Type
of Item categories.
This program is set up where anybody can use it. The way the interface is set up makes it
very easy for the beginner and the extensive information and options will please the power
user. An excellent program that I would recommend if you want to keep a record of things
you own.
