My hard drive uses a FAT32 file system which means that most
normal drive compression software won't work. This program
however will work with the FAT32 and others. In the first few
minutes I selected the file folders of the programs that I rarely
use to compress and a few minutes later I had recovered 73.6MB of
disk space just by selecting these few folders. After they were
compressed I went to the start menu and ran one of the programs
in the compressed folder. It ran perfectly with no noticeable
slow down. Now for what the program does exactly. It is setup so
that even a novice user can use it but does allow the gurus
options to customize it. The opening screen gives you several
choices. The first choice is Quickspace in which you can select
the amount of space that you want to free up and then it scans
your hard disk and makes suggestions of the files or folders than
can be compressed in order to free up that much space. The next
choice is Compress in which you can choose to select folders or
file type!d Show Compressed files in an alternate color letting
you choose the color. The next to last choice on the opening
screen is Disk Checkup which scans the compressed files to make
sure they are still in good condition. The final choice is Exit
which closes the opening screen but leaves the program in the
taskbar.
The choices you get by right clicking the icon in the taskbar are
FreeSpace Manager (opening screen), FreeSpace Analyzer (quick
glance at how much space you would save folder by folder), Quick
Space Wizard, Compression Wizard, Decompression Wizard, Disk
Checkup, Settings, Help and About. Another option of FreeSpace is
to convert zip files to FreeSpace compressed folder by right
clicking the zip file and choosing Convert to FreeSpace folder
and making the choices you want then clicking Convert. It is a v

About the shareware version copied from the webpage: "The

FreeSpace-compressed files, but you will not be able to compress
new files." There are several options available to choose
