Download/HomepageInternet Mate is an easy way to keep track of all
the addresses, all your email accounts, all your server accounts
information, and all your homepages. It also has a calendar but
all it does is highlight the current date according to your
computer and cannot be edited. It also has a Find box that will
search the first field under each section for what you put in it.
You cannot have 2 records with the same name in the first field
or you will get an error message when you do a find. For example
in addresses I can't have 2 people with the last name of Heath if
I do when I put Heath in the Find box I will get an error
message.
Addresses has fields for all the usual information including 2
phone numbers, Ext, Fax, Cell Phone, and Pager. It also has a
notes field, birthday field, anniversary field, last updated
field and email address field. When you click on the Home Tel
button or the Business button then the phone number and name pops
up with a call button if you click the call button it launches
the Windows 95 dialer and dials the number for you. It also has a
send button that will open up a message compose window with the
email address in the To field but this option only works in the
registered version. The Email account section is for you to keep
track of each of your email accounts and has a field for the
Email Account Name, email address, User Name, Password, Pop (in)
server, SMTP (out) server, and Notes. The Server section helps
you keep track of all the information that you might need about
your server. The fields under server are Server Name, Host Name,
Diag_IP, Diag_Port, Frequency, DNS_IP, Dial Up, Alt Dial Up, FTP,
News, and Time Server, In and Out Mail, User Name, Password, and
Notes. The Homepage section has fields for Home Server, Home URL,
User Name, Password, FTP Site, FTP Upload, HTTP File Transfer,
Last Up, and Notes.
The toolbar has buttons for First and Last Record, Previous and
Next Record, Insert, Delete, and Edit Record, Post and Cancel
Edit, and Refresh. There is also a backup and restore option
which requires you to read the help file in order to find out how
to do it.
All in all if you have multiple addresses, emails, servers, and
homepages to remember then this program is an easy way to do it.
You can register this program via regular mail with cash, check,
or money order in US funds. Registering this program will get you
the next version at half price, the send button will work, you
can get a list of records for each section by clicking browse,
and you can preview or print a report for each section by click
report.
