Irfan View is a graphics viewer and converter. It
supports the JPEG, GIF, BMP, DIB, RLE, PCX, PNG, TIFF, TGA,
RAS/SUN, ICO, AVI, WMF, EMF, PBM, PGM, PPM, IFF/LBM and Photo-CD
formats. It supports drag and drop and you can set up all the
above formats to open in irfan view in the options.
You can copy, move, save as, print and delete images. You can
also view Avi's, animated gifs, slideshow of images, and image
info. You can also copy an image from the clipboard for view then
save it in one of the above formats. Under the options menu you
can choose to change you properties (this is where you set it up
to automatically to open iview when you click on a file with one
of the above extensions), you and play, stop, pause, or resume an
*.avi file, stop *.gif animation, set as wallpaper, resize image
(automatically proportions), convert to 256 colors, convert to
grayscale, negative, brightness/contrast, edit palette, always on
top, and time management. You also get several viewing, rotating
and flipping options.
All in all this is a very good program and is free for home use
and costs $10.00 to all others. No expirations or nag screens. If
you need to register it he only takes cash. I just wish it would
do more since it is so easy to use. Would love the ability to
crop a graphic and/or the ability to make a graphic transparent.
I hate opening a full fledged graphics program to do those little
tasks.
