Lazo allows the user to search multiple search
engines fast and easy. It's very simple to use,
allowing an inexperienced user to start surfin'. The help file
included with Lazo contains all
the information you need to start searching effectively!
It searches Yahoo, Lycos, Alta Vista, Excite, Infoseek and
Webcrawler. The results it finds
are then merged and checked for duplicates. You then get the list
to look through. All you
have to do is double-click to open a new Explorer page. I find
this a little bothersome, it
would be nice if it didn't have to open another page since
there's already one open. Lazo will
list the results by rank, most likely to least likely. I really
liked the listing it presents
on screen.
The shareware version that I downloaded works only with the
Microsoft's Internet Explorer,
however the registered version will also work with Netscape
Navigator.
A few things to put on the wish list for Lazo are:
1. Printing Functions, to have a hard copy, just in case you
crash! 2. Save Functions, for
reviewing later offline 3. A different download filename
(setup.exe), there are too many with
this name! They tell you not to rename this file.
I would really like to see both added to this program.
You have approximately 4 to 5 weeks to evaluate this software
before it will time-out, cease to
work.
All in all it does a great job but again as my children say,
" if it can be locked up, my mom
can do it!" I did manage to lock this program up twice but
was able to recover, gracefully.
I'm not sure if it was the Lazo's fault or Explorer, I'm online
hours at a time and
occasionally it happens. It's worth a look at any rate!
Note: The registered copies of Lazo have more features than the
evaluation copy and they
include technical support for up to three months.
