When I was a small kid I used to live on Jim
Henson's Muppet Babies, I admit it: all those of
you who were kids in that age admit it too; perhaps not Muppet
Babies, but one of the other
Muppet shows. Go on, 'fess up. There - feels good to tell the
truth for once, eh? Anyway we
weren't so fortunate then. Now there are Pentiums capable of
almost anything we could dream of
in those days, including an interactive Muppet movie or something
close. Truely, this could
hardly be closer to an interactive episode of Jim Henson's
Muppets. While this game was
designed to be appealing to children, I'm sure adults will have
no trouble finding enough
entertainment in here to be worth their while. For children,
entertaining movie clips are
played with a mouseclick on a hot spot, plus I'm sure to them,
pretty compelling games. Those
movie clips also contain clues (however useless or shallow) to
build up on the storyline. One
thing though, young children probably would not be able to
understand some parts, though I
doubt they would have the attention span anyway. The games would
probably be more entertaining
to them, but they fall quite flat for adults. That said, the
movie clips are the best that I've
seen by far - crisp and smooth. The accompanying sound is very
clear. In fact it would almost
seem as if it were really a television episode, in fact clearer,
as long as you've got a good
monitor. I would definitely recommend this title for parents who
don't mind aiding the child as
they go along; after all, kid's games were designed to be a tool
for interaction between parent
and child, not to be a babysitter.
