I don't know about you, but I've found that most of those sticky note and
post-it note programs available offer simply too many features. Yes, that's right, too
many features. Sure, sure, it is nice to have 50 different note pages and be able to
change their size, put active links in them, send them via e-mail, etc., but really all
most people want is a tiny little pad that we can jot notes on. And it would be nice if it
didn't cost much, maybe even free.
QuickNotes fits these specs. When launched, it sits in your system tray. If you need to
jot something down, just right click on the icon and a notepad pops up. Type away and
don't worry about saving -- it happens automatically. There's nothing fancy going on here.
The most exotic things you can do are changing background colors and fonts and inserting
the date/time or a separator line.
Installation is simply unzipping the downloaded file into a new folder. You will probably
also want to create a shortcut in your start-up menu so that QuickNotes will always be
ready for you in the system tray. There's no real help file, nor does the website have any
specific information, but you don't really need it --that's one of the benefits of such a
simple program.
