RFtp is an FTP client that makes short work of the tedium of file uploads and downloads. Utilizing a Windows-style graphical interface with the remote system, RFtp shows folders and files that respond to mouse clicks (right and left) with familiar drop-down menu options. FTP uploads are simple drag-and-drop from any Windows Explorer window. Each upload or download occupies it's own thread, so the interface remains responsive at all times.
RFtp has a small footprint, both in screen real-estate and on your hard drive, storing user information in the system registry. That means no stray ".ini" files left scattered about if you ever decide to uninstall! Though small, RFtp packs a load of functionality. PINGing of any URL is supported, as are both anonymous and user name/password FTP logins. A log of each session is maintained with a user-specified variable amount of detail. FTP sites, saved as complete URLs, are easily added (just connect with a site) or removed (click remove) from a drop-down list of commonly-used sites.
I tested RFtp by uploading and maintaining my current crop of websites, numbering more than fifty distinct pages with numerous graphics, and it performed beautifully. All files were transferred quickly, in their entirety, with surprisingly little input from me. The learning curve, from installation to expert user, is minimal. Run, don't walk, to add this super little utility to your bag of web tools!
